Senator slams Labor for lack of Indigenous focus

One of Labor's Senate candidates has hit out at his party, saying it ignored Indigenous issues during the election campaign.

Northern Territory Labor candidate Wayne Connop says both major parties focused too heavily on the economy.

Mr Connop says he is disappointed his party did not concentrate on serious issues facing Indigenous people.

"Aboriginal affairs right across Australia were left out of the whole political spectrum and I think that it's a disgrace, Labor needs to come back to the reality and really look at the health, the education and the income levels," he said.

That's exactly what I was thinking....

Did either party even mention Indigenous affairs in the campaign? Is it too delicate an issue to even discuss? Labor had a good track record with Indigenous affairs, why let it slide this time?

So many questions... Fuck all answers.
