Frightful Interiors - 1st Issue

My Kitchen (with major emphasis on the 'kit(s)ch') - Can someone please tell me if orange benchtops and dark-brown fake-woodgrain cupbords were ever fashionable, or ever likely to be fashionable, especially with the beige wall tiles... Posted by Hello

Ooooo where to start, where to start?

1)Send me a plane ticket and I'll do you a makeover.

2)I think it's a Perth thing. Your kitschen and bathroom are not unlike the ones I saw at my friend's house when I was there. His parents' place was also kinda similar.

3)Are you the architect and owner of the neatly placed spices and cannisters?

4)Upon further reflection, Canada has it's fair share of bad 60s and 70s decor, but it's slightly different somehow. There was a shade of green that became known to some as "Trans-Canada Green". It seemed to be used in bad decor right across the country in the 60s and 70s, possibly even the 50s.

The 'makeover' thing is a touch ambitious. It would be a lot more practicle to do the 'moveout' thing.

This is basically a cheap and nasty rental, which is perfect for me while I'm studying.

See this post: http://cotardssyndrome.blogspot.com/2004/10/where-ive-been-its-looks-scary-when.html

And yes, the benchtop stuff is mine...

Actually I must have no taste, because the kitchen doesn't offend me. Yeah it's a throwback but I've seen worse.
